Privacy Policy

Underhood is a product name of, and is operated by, Elowin Labs LLC ("we"). References to "Underhood" mean Elowin Labs LLC doing business as Underhood. This page describes what happens to data when you visit the site at underhood.video. The short version: the site is a few static pages, it has no accounts and no forms, and the only things it keeps in your browser are the ones you switch on in the cookie notice.

What the server receives

When you open a page, your browser sends the usual request details (the address of the page, your IP address, your browser's user agent). The site is served by Cloudflare, which keeps sampled request logs (URL, status, timing, country, user agent) for operational debugging for a limited period. We keep no record of who visited.

What stays in your browser

With the Functional category on in the cookie notice, your browser stores one value under this site's origin: underhood.theme (light or dark, set when you press the theme control). With Functional off, the theme lasts for the page you are on, nothing is remembered between visits, and anything remembered earlier is removed. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes it as well.

Analytics

We use Plausible, a privacy-focused analytics service hosted in the EU, to count visits and a few named events (a click on one of the channel buttons, a click on the support link). Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data and does not track you across sites. Measurement is on unless you decline it in the cookie notice; turning Analytics off stops Plausible counting at once and on later visits.

Cookies and your choices

On your first visit a cookie notice offers three categories: Essential (the record of your choice, always on), Functional (remembering your theme) and Analytics (Plausible). Your choice is kept for 180 days in a first-party cookie named uh_consent and in local storage under uh-consent; the record holds only the choice itself. The "Your privacy choices" link in the footer of every page reopens the preferences. The cookie page has the full list of what each category controls.

Other sites

The channel buttons take you to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, and the "Support the channel" link goes to our Ko-fi page. Each of those sites handles data under its own policies once you are there; tips on Ko-fi are processed by Ko-fi and Stripe, and Underhood receives no card details and does not link a tip to your visits.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Your rights

Because we do not keep personal data about you, there is nothing for us to export or delete on request beyond what your browser holds. If you have a question about this policy, write to hello@underhood.video.

Changes

We will update this page when the way the site handles data changes and bump the date above.
